Stoneleigh-Burnham School

King School - Stamford, CT

Stoneleigh-Burnham School (SBS), an independent day and boarding school in Greenfield, Massachusetts, attracts girls in grades 7-12 from more than 15 states and more than a dozen countries.

Founded in 1869, SBS is known for its powerful academics, as well as its debate and public speaking, performing and visual arts, athletics, and equestrian programs. It is the first girls’ boarding school in New England to offer the International Baccalaureate Diploma Program and 100% of its seniors are accepted to college year after year.

As part of its commitment to make education accessible to more families, SBS reduced its day tuition by upwards of 40% in 2020. The following year, the School significantly decreased boarding tuition. SBS’s new tuition rates position them at the forefront of an important trend in independent school education and their boarding tuition is now approximately 10% lower than the national average boarding school tuition.

SBS is an academic community with an international perspective. The School inspires girls to pursue meaningful lives based on honor, respect, and intellectual curiosity. Each student is challenged to discover her best self and graduate with the confidence to think independently and act ethically, secure in the knowledge that her voice will be heard.
