King graduates are well equipped to succeed in college and to pursue lives of ongoing inquiry, learning, accomplishment, personal fulfillment and social responsibility.

Our Values and Virtues

When individuals are known and valued, the result is a teaching and learning community powered to greater heights through the strength of trust, mutual support, and collaboration. King School sets a better standard by intentionally establishing a welcoming culture. Students, families, faculty, staff, and alumni thrive because they are included and encouraged at King.

Lower School:

When young learners see education as a place to experiment, create, construct, and connect, they develop a more expansive mindset about what school can offer them. They experience education as a path of discovery, understanding, wonder, and joy. These ideas are grounded in the Reggio-Emilia inspired, project based philosophy practiced at King School. We encourage our PreKindergarten and Kindergarten learners to collaboratively explore intentionally created vibrant classroom spaces where children are actively engaged in the process of learning from the earliest ages.

At King, we know that the path to excellence is different for each of us. When children are told there are only a few achievements worth striving for, their creativity and independence are stifled. At King, we set a better standard by daring young people to ask more of their education than a race to the finish. Our better way to be your best means amplifying students’ passions and uncovering their talents. King students celebrate achievement within community, and know that their King experience will take them wherever they want to go.

Middle School:

When adolescents can delve into an expansive range of interests and topics, they are more likely to discover the multitude of their talents and passions, as well as identify opportunities for growth. Students who feel supported in keeping open minds ask, “What’s next?” and “Why not?” as they look to their futures. The King Middle School promotes this self-exploration and self-awareness, encouraging students to discover their academic, artistic, and athletic talents in ways that foster balance, growth, and overall wellness.

Upper School:

When young adults are cheered on as they begin to take ownership of their ambitions and achievements, they feel like stars of a team purpose-built for their success. The King Upper School program empowers students to unleash their greatness by emphasizing self-knowledge, expansive learning, and courageous thinking—the very qualities that lead to happy, healthy, and purposeful lives.
