About King School

When children are told there are only a few achievements worth striving for, and that their friends are really their competitors, their creativity and independence are stifled.

We set a better standard by daring young people to ask more of their education than a race to the finish. Our better way to be your best means amplifying students’ passions and uncovering the talents they don’t yet know they have. King students celebrate achievement within community, and know that their King experience will take them wherever they want to go.

When students are known, supported, and understood at a school, they feel more confident in exploring new things and taking risks. As a result, they are more likely to discover new strengths and push beyond what’s required to “make the grade.” King students pursue meaningful research, boldly intertwine academic subjects, and share their learning in diverse formats. They deepen their understanding through the give and take of different perspectives. King students discover a better way to be their best.

Lower School:

When young learners see education as a place to experiment, create, construct, and connect, they develop a more expansive mindset about what “school” can offer them. They feel encouraged to ask questions and make their own discoveries, so they become good listeners and critical thinkers who gain the confidence to take on challenges and seize unlimited possibilities.

These ideas are grounded in the Reggio-Emilia inspired, project-based teaching and learning program PreKindergarten, starting at age 3, and Kindergarten. We encourage our early childhood learners to collaboratively explore intentionally created vibrant classroom spaces to actively engage in the process of learning from the earliest ages. Our Grade 1–5 program is an interactive, hands-on experience, further nurturing a love of learning and working with others.

Middle School:

When adolescents can delve into an expansive range of interests and topics, they are more likely to discover the multitude of their talents and passions, as well as identify opportunities for growth. Students who feel supported in keeping open minds ask, “What’s next?” and “Why not?” as they look to their futures. The King Middle School promotes this self-exploration and self-awareness, encouraging students to discover their academic, artistic, and athletic talents in ways that foster balance, growth, and overall wellness.

Upper School:

When young adults are cheered on as they begin to take ownership of their ambitions and achievements, they feel like stars of a team purpose-built for their success. The King Upper School program empowers students to unleash their greatness by emphasizing self-knowledge, expansive learning, and courageous thinking—the very qualities that lead to happy, healthy, and purposeful lives.
