Founded in 1980, German International School New York (GISNY) is a private, non-profit, international school beautifully located on 20 acres of land in Westchester County, New York, 30 minutes north of New York City and 15 minutes south of Greenwich, Connecticut.

GISNY offers a distinctive German/English bilingual, multicultural approach to teaching and learning for students from Pre-K through Grade 12.

Admissions Events & Registration

Our admissions events are a great way to get to know our school and give you a unique opportunity to engage with our Heads of School, administrators, faculty, and admissions team.

We have scheduled our Open House events from 10 - 11:30 a.m. for the following dates:

-- Oct. 4, 2019
-- Nov. 15, 2019
-- Jan. 24, 2020
-- March 20, 2020

In case you would like to register more than one child, please fill in one registration form per child.

If you are not able to attend any of our events, please complete an Inquiry Form and request to schedule a private tour. Appointments are required for all tours.

GISNY is the only school in the tri-state area accredited to offer the New York State High School Diploma and the German International Abitur (DIA). The DIA is an internationally acclaimed college preparatory curriculum that provides an academically rigorous and culturally rich multilingual education.

The German and American curricula are united in an open, supportive environment that promotes personal growth, independence, and teamwork. Small class sizes allow our teachers to pay close personal attention to each student, thereby helping them to achieve their potential and encouraging them to develop into curious, analytical, and conscientious global citizens.

Children entering our Pre-K or Kindergarten classes do not need to speak or understand German. All nationalities are welcome!

Academics

German International School New York (GISNY) is known for its innovative international educational excellence for over thirty-nine years. The primary language of instruction is German. Additionally, all students study English beginning in Pre-K and begin a third language in sixth grade.

We are committed to helping students reach their potential in a safe, friendly and stimulating environment that fosters critical thinking as well as appreciation for diversity.

Our program spans across all academic disciplines as well as the arts and sports. Our curriculum is supported and enhanced by science and technology resources, such as SmartBoards, iPads, laptops and labs for hands-on science experiments.

Working with a dedicated faculty and staff, students benefit from the school's rigorous curriculum, close-knit community, and interactions with the vibrant local culture. Students leave GISNY thoroughly prepared to continue their education in first-class learning institutions around the world.
