Welcome To Carmel Academy

At Carmel Academy we are committed to providing a superior private school education, infused with academic excellence, Jewish values, community responsibility and vibrant Jewish living.

We honor each child's individuality with an exceptionally personalized education. Carmel Academy is accredited by the Connecticut Association of Independent Schools, and is recognized as a school of excellence and educational distinction by the organization.

The academic excellence of our program is built on rigorous standards, highly-credentialed faculty, and a low student-to-faculty ratio. Our multi-disciplinary approach enables students to connect classroom learning to the world around them, thereby engaging students in relevant and intellectually challenging experiences. Our innovative dual curriculum brings the school’s vision to life by incorporating the highest national standards and integrating general and Judaic knowledge throughout the day.

At Carmel Academy we emphasize our connection to our 3,000-year-old Jewish heritage while integrating the overarching principle of k’lal Yisrael – the unity of the Jewish people into every aspect of the learning experience.

We encourage you to visit our 17-acre historic campus at 270 Lake Avenue in Greenwich, CT so you can see our talented faculty and engaged students in action, and experience first-hand what makes a Carmel Academy education exceptional.

Gan Chalomot Playground

Carmel Academy’s Gan Chalomot, Playground of Dreams, puts a child’s imagination, creativity and sense of discovery center stage.

The playground, created using natural, authentic materials, instantly sparks imagination and play. Specially carved tree trunks, a tee-pee crafted from tree branches, and play equipment mostly made from wood give children a nature-themed slate to explore. Our Gan Chalomot is a natural and wonderful extension to our school’s teaching philosophy.

Carmel nurtures, treasures and challenges young people. The teachers and administrators are professional and caring. They focus both on helping students reach specific and measurable educational goals, and on knowing and caring for young people as individuals. As a community school, it embodies and models the best of Jewish peoplehood -- creating a functional, vibrant and respectful community composed of families who live Judaism in different ways. As parents, we value this enormously. Perhaps most importantly, our kids love it. When visiting campus in late August, they couldn't stop talking about how excited they were to be back on campus and for the start of school.
--Rebecca Lieberman

A fantastic school with dedicated staff and constantly evolving education principles. The curriculum is rigorous while simultaneously tailored to each child's strengths and areas of improvement. A place where children can develop a deep love and connection with their Jewish identity and heritage, and become true advocates for the Jewish people and the Jewish homeland. Administrators work tirelessly to ensure the best possible, education and environment for, each and every Carmel student.
--Ari Loren

An amazing school that preserves heritage and religion whilst never falling behind on all the advances found in new teaching techniques and technology.
