There's something pretty amazing (and even a little dream-like) about riding an enormous and colorful hot air balloon above the Greenwich Polo fields at Conyers Farm. Taking in the birds eye view of the various shades-of-green across the 62-acre preserve below is certain to get the mind thinking about the importance of conserving and caring for open spaces, waterways, trees, and other natural vegetation in our community and beyond.
Those types of environmentally-friendly thoughts get directly to the heart of what Greenwich Land Trust (GLT) is all about - even as they celebrated their recent 19th annual “Go Wild!” family field day on Sunday, September 23rd with fun games, live music, food and drinks, and plenty of those unforgettable hot air balloon rides!
And that wasn't all! "Go Wild!" featured additional activities and entertainment for all ages including live music, a rock-climbing wall, petting zoo, bungee trampolines, inflatable maze, animal encounters, gaga courts, autumn crafts, and much more. The ticket price included all rides and activities, as well as food truck fare from Caffè Bon, Cowabunga, New Haven Pizza Truck, Spuds Your Way, and Taco Pacifico, plus a wide variety of refreshments, snacks, drinks and adult beverages that were served throughout the day.
The popular annual "Go Wild!" event supports GLT's ongoing land stewardship efforts and general operational costs.
