Polar Bear Plunge - Greenwich

Nothing says “New Year, New Me” quite like the feeling of ice cold water hitting your skin in the early hours of the brand new annual calendar!

Dozens of Greenwich residents rang in the new year at Tod’s Point with the annual Polar Bear Plunge.

Despite the chilly temperatures, people of all ages came out in droves to take a quick dip into the water, as the event made a triumphant return after a one-year hiatus due to COVID.

In spite of the cold conditions, the outpouring of support raised the spirits of all those in attendance.

Among those brave enough to take to the water were members of the Greenwich High School Water Polo team who traded the indoor swimming pool for a brief outdoor swim in the near-freezing waters of Tod’s Point.
