On Sunday July 15th, against the verdant green backdrop of a midsummer's Binney Park, over 20 local artists gathered to exhibit their work in the inaugural Art in the Park event organized by the Old Greenwich Merchants Association.
Blue skies and warm sunshine bathed the local landscape, which was adorned with white pop-up tents, scores of people walking the park’s paths and lots and lots of great local art on display.
Artists working across a wide swath of disciplines were represented - from painting and photography, all the way through stoneware, ceramics, and digital mediums. And the enthusiastic attendance of community residents shows that there is a major appetite for the cultural and the creative in our midst!
From the colorful local landscapes captured on canvas by Gail Bell to the digital art of 16 year old artist Riley Boksenbaum to the hand crafted wood pieces of Arik Bensimon – over 20 “up and coming” local artists shared the product of their artistic inspiration for visitors to enjoy.
