Greenwich Wine + Food Festival 2018

On Saturday, September 22nd, 2018, Roger Sherman Baldwin Park was – for the day, at least – the epicenter of all things culinary: from the wickedly innovative and decadent offerings of locally and globally-recognized celebrity chefs, through the most amusing vintages of crushed grapes, and on towards the most cutting-edge advancements of the most notable brew masters and mixologists. Oh, and did we also mention that there was a Tim McGraw performance in the park on that day, too?

Indeed, the 8th Annual Greenwich Wine + Food Festival elevated itself into even more of a national-tier event this year with special appearances by such legendary kitchen-scene superheroes as Daniel Boulud, Scott Conant, Mary Giuliani, Alex Guarnaschelli and Adam Richman!

The scents, sights, and sounds of colorful and fresh ingredients being manipulated into enticing finished dishes were serving up a little sensory overload in the Grand Tasting Tent which featured tastings and demonstrations from 150+ of the area’s finest food, wine and spirits experts. But there were also other worlds of flavor to explore in the Culinary Village – including tents offering up the best in burgers, BBQ, tacos and more!

Several-thousand area foodies, epicures, gourmets, and gastronomes witnessed this appetite-arousing activity building towards a full buzz against the trendy glitz and glamour backdrop of cooking demos, Q&A sessions, booking signings, and live interviews PLUS a celebrity green room with live interviews and an exclusive Meet the Masters’ Panel discussion moderated by none other than the iconic Today Show host (and Greenwich-resident) Kathie Lee Gifford!

For the competitively-culinary, there was a 7th Annual Burger Battle (hosted by Adam Richman) AND a 4th Annual Top Bartender Showdown.

At 6:30 pm, singer-songwriter (and Greenwich-native) Caroline Jones hit the stage with her increasingly popular brand of pop-country glory.

A portion of the festival’s proceeds were donated to the Norwalk-based Multiple Myeloma Research Foundation, the Town of Greenwich Parks & Recreation Foundation, and Ment’or, a foundation that supports young culinary professionals.

Living Greenwich photographer Pam Grunow was on hand at the event – and she brought a few images back for those of you who weren’t able to be in attendance 🙂
