The Greenwich Point Conservancy picked a perfect night to hold their annual Beach Ball. The patrons of this sold-out event enjoyed fabulous food, drinks and sunlit and moonlit views of Long Island Sound.
The Beach Ball is Greenwich Point Conservancy's (GPC) largest fundraiser of the year. The goal of the GPC is to work with the Town of Greenwich to develop and implement plans for the restoration and preservation of the important historic structures at Greenwich Point.
Chris Franco, President of the Greenwich Point Conservancy announced that the next project they are undertaking is the restoration of the beautiful and unique Chimes Building. This structure was built by Mr. and Mrs. J. Kennedy Tod in 1896. Plans are currently underway and proceeds from the Beach Ball will be put towards this renovation.
Local dignitaries and enthusiastic supporters of Greenwich Point Senator Richard Blumenthal, Congressman Jim Himes and First Selectman Peter Tesei were in attendance. Peter Tesei was a founding member of the Greenwich Point Conservancy.
