PHOTO GALLERY: Greenwich Cardinals Football Game Open to Fans

When the Greenwich Cardinals kicked off their football game on Saturday afternoon against Fairfield Prep, it was a true home game in front of a supportive crowd in favor of the Cardinals.

On Friday, the town of Greenwich’s Building Department gave the thumbs up for a one-day temporary certificate of occupancy for Cardinal Stadium, allowing fans to sit in the new bleachers on the home side of the stadium and the results were spectacular.

Members of the community came out in droves to support the Cardinals, as the newly constructed bleachers were packed to the fullest extent while the students had fun enjoying a special Hawaiian theme to celebrate the return of home fans.

While the project is still not yet fully complete, the town hopes that it will be completed in time for the next home game on October 30, allowing supporters of the Greenwich football team to come out in full force!

When the construction is finished, the stadium will have new bathrooms, a concession stand, a club room, and a ticket kiosk making for a higher quality fan experience!
