Art to the Avenue

On May 3rd, 2018 the Greenwich Arts Council, along with the strong support of the Greenwich business community, held the opening night festivities for their 21st Annual Art To The Avenue festival.

This month-long event, which turns Greenwich Avenue into a strolling art gallery, represents the perfect marriage of creativity and commerce – in a cross-pollination that benefits both the artists AND local merchants!

For 2018, there are 105 artists and 85 merchants participating! And that is in addition to the 15+ musical acts, including the talented Greenwich High School Jazz Band, that were providing festive entertainment along the Avenue for the opening night celebration!

Some businesses held receptions offering hors d’eouvres and drinks, in addition to the art displays. The art will remain in place at the retailers through Memorial Day, so there is ample time for viewers to experience this glorious transformation of downtown Greenwich into a vibrant and colorful “art gallery”.

All the art on display is for sale, and a 30% tax deduction for the purchaser benefits the Greenwich Arts Council.
