PHOTO GALLERY: 8th Annual Greenwich Town Party

Memorial Day activities in Greenwich kicked off with the 8th annual Greenwich Town Party rocking a crowd of approximately 8,000 people on Saturday.

Sounds from the all-day, volunteer-supported music festival - headlined by none other than Eric Clapton - could be heard across Greenwich Harbor and Long Island Sound from the shores of Roger Sherman Baldwin Park in Greenwich.

A few of the other bands on the lineup included: Trout Steak Revival (Bluegrass band from Colorado), Swirl (an original blend of Mediterranean influences), the Preservation Hall Jazz Band, Vinegar Mother (a psychedelic soul-rock quintet), and the Tedeschi Trucks Band.

Although Memorial Day weekend is only the 'unofficial' start of the New England summer season - the beautiful weather, with temps reaching the high 80's, during the Greenwich Town Party had everyone in a summer state of mind.

Living Greenwich photographer Pam Grunow was in the crowd - and she managed to capture images of many of the performers AND a bunch of audience members. Have a look below to see who you recognize!

ALSO: Here are some images of Grammy Award winner and three-time Rock & Roll Hall of Fame inductee Eric Clapton - who headlined the eighth annual Greenwich Town Party (GTP), the all-day family-friendly music festival on Saturday, May 26 at Roger Sherman Baldwin Park. Held annually on the Saturday of Memorial Day Weekend, this volunteer-supported community event is a popular kickoff to summer. The event brings multiple generations of Greenwich residents together to celebrate town pride and the spirit of giving through live music, local food favorites, and family-fun activities.
