You know Old Greenwich is beginning to get into the fall swing of things when the Pumpkin Patch arrives!
On Saturday, October 14th The Old Greenwich Elementary School PTA held their 2017 Pumpkin Patch event - an annual autumn fundraiser which is truly one of the highlights of the colorful season for families in Old Greenwich and the surrounding areas!
The Pumpkin Patch has the timeless feel of a nostalgic autumn fair. Cotton candy. Hay bales stacked into a maze. Orange and black balloons. Colorful handcrafted signage pointing visitors in the direction of the multitude of activities. Inflatable bounce houses. The warm scents of fall flavors drifting from the direction of the bake sale. A haunted house. Karaoke. Games. Raffles. Music. Magic shows. And, of course, plenty of pumpkins for sale in a variety of sizes.
The Taco Loco food truck and Garden Catering were on hand offering a multitude of delicious food options.
Funds raised supplement the OGS public education efforts in many curriculum enrichment programs (science and math enrichment, music, field trips, art, etc) - and this one day event is the PTA’s largest fundraising event of the year.
The weather may have felt like summer - but this cherished local happening had everyone who attended in an autumn state of mind by the end of the day!
