Mike's Organic to Launch Retail Location on Putnam Avenue in Greenwich

Healthy foodies of Greenwich, rejoice!

Mike’s Organic, CT’s premier farm-to-home delivery service, has announced the launch of a retail location in the long-vacant space at 600 East Putnam Avenue in Greenwich (the former site of Patio.com).

This space will serve as the brand’s flagship store PLUS a hub for the community to learn about food. Mike’s Organic also has plans to expand its delivery service with the capability to deliver within 24 hours across large parts of Fairfield & Westchester Counties.

Food entrepreneur and Greenwich resident Mike Geller founded the business in 2009 as one of the first farm-to-home delivery services in America. The brand sources directly from 250 small, local farmers and artisans and features the highest quality local produce, pastured meats and eggs, grass-fed dairy, wild fish, and organic pantry selections. From the farm to your front door, Mike’s Organic connects consumers with clean, wholesome, good-for-you food.

The 2,000 square-foot Greenwich market will offer the highest-quality organic groceries spanning local produce, pastured meats and eggs, grass-fed dairy, wild fish, organic pantry selections, baked goods and more.

Prepared food options, which will also be made available through delivery, include: Glazed Ora King Salmon, Chicken Ricotta Meatballs, Roasted Mixed Vegetables, Mike’s Mac & Cheese, Whole Roasted Chicken, Mashed Yukon Gold Potatoes, Quinoa Primavera, and more.

In keeping with Mike’s Organic commitment to sustainability, all of the packaging for Mike’s Organic prepared foods line is 100% compostable.

“What sets our prepared foods apart is the quality of the ingredients,” said Mike Geller, founder of Mike’s Organic. “Every day we drive to farms in the region to hand pick the finest food to offer to our customers, and now we are taking that a step further by transforming those ingredients into ready-to-eat meals.”

More than a market, Mike’s Organic will be an experiential destination that features a rotating lineup of food-forward programming. Guests will have the opportunity to meet local farmers and purveyors as they partake in interactive events and activations both inside the space and outdoors on its patio.

LOVE TO COOK? Add to your culinary skills with a series of cooking classes that will offer something for everyone, from a grilling course to a kids bake-off to a low-waste cooking class to learn how to make food from kitchen scraps.

Additionally, Mike’s Organic will host a variety of experiences in partnership with local brands, from a dumpling-deep-dive with Norwalk’s Nit Noi Provisions to a make-your-own-pizza pop-up with the owner/tomato farmer of Litchfield County’s Waldingfield Farm.

Mike and his core team all have deep roots in Greenwich; Vice Presidents Chris Kimball and Mackenzie Judson and Produce Manager Ford Bucknall all grew up in Greenwich.

“We’re grateful for the opportunity we’ve had the last 12 years to support so many farmers and artisans, and we’re excited to build on that foundation to create a signature experience in Greenwich that changes the way people shop and connect with their food,” said Mike Geller, Founder of Mike’s Organic. “Our mission with the new space is to serve as a gathering place where the community can interact with the people who grow, raise, catch and make our food. When you know where your food comes from, the way you look at it will forever change.”

“I want to source the best of the best,” said Geller, who plan to open the doors to the new store in early 2022. “Having lived in town so long, we want to create a true community place for Greenwich.”
