Rides. Foods. Fun. Everyone in Greenwich is familiar with the North Mianus School Pow Wow!
This weekend marked the 70th Anniversary of this annual local rite of spring. Started in 1946, the Pow Wow was originally organized as a springtime celebration to benefit the students. Flash forward 7 decades and the crowds are still arriving en masse to take part in the carnivalesque atmosphere made possible through the selfless work of a sizable army of enthusiastic volunteers.
Money raised from the Pow Wow goes directly towards curriculum enrichment programs at North Mianus - and it is this tangible benefit to the classrooms and students which is a driving force motivating so many of the parents to stay involved in this stellar example of an enduring local event done right!
