2019 Hawk Watch Kickoff and Raptor ID Workshop - Audubon Greenwich

August 25 @ 11:00 am - 1:00 pm

Learn how to identify and count the migrating hawks, eagles and falcons that pass over the Audubon each year.

Did you know that an average of 20,000 hawks, eagles, falcons, and vultures migrate over our Quaker Ridge Hawk Watch every fall? Join Audubon naturalist Ryan MacLean as we kick off another hawk watching season and learn how to identify and count the raptors seen at Audubon Center in Greenwich. Following an introduction where you will learn how to distinguish the different shapes of hawks in flight, we'll use binoculars to look for migrating raptors from Hawk Watch Lawn.

You can also volunteer with your newfound hawk watching skills at Quaker Ridge Hawk Watch any day from late August through November to help us count raptors!

  • All ages 6 & up are welcome
  • $5 members, $8 non-members
  • RSVP is requested

For questions and to RSVP, contact Ryan MacLean at rmaclean@audubon.org or 914-417-5234.
