The RealReal Expands to Greenwich Avenue

Do you enjoy luxury goods – but prefer not to pay the ‘brand new’ premium on them? Or maybe you own a few designer items you no longer use — and would like to put them up for consignment?

If so, you’ll be interested in the fact that The RealReal, a leading online marketplace for authenticated, resale luxury goods, has opened a new brick and mortar store at 256 Greenwich Ave (at the former location of the Madewell’s).

The newly opened The RealReal in Greenwich joins the company’s 13 other retail locations, including their nine shoppable stores, where customers can shop, sell, meet with their experts and receive free valuations.

What types of goods can you buy (or sell) at The RealReal on Greenwich Ave? As a sustainable company, The RealReal gives new life to pieces by thousands of brands across numerous categories—including women’s and men’s fashion, fine jewelry and watches, art and home—in support of the circular economy.

They make selling effortless with free virtual appointments, in-home pickup, drop-off and direct shipping. They do all of the work for consignors, including authenticating, using AI and machine learning to determine optimal pricing, photographing and listing their items, as well as handling shipping and customer service.

At the Greenwich Ave location you can expect “Racks of items featuring brands and styles we know our Greenwich shoppers love,” according to Courtney Hawkins, The RealReal’s vice president of retail. Hawkins also recently stated, in a Greenwich Time interview, that “Greenwich is a good fit for The RealReal, as it has already developed a good base in the area … we already see strong engagement with resale from our customers and consignors in the market.”

Online, The RealReal is the world’s largest digital marketplace for authenticated, resale luxury goods, with more than 20 million members. With a rigorous authentication process overseen by experts, The RealReal provides a safe and reliable platform for consumers to buy and sell their luxury items. They have hundreds of in-house gemologists, horologists and brand authenticators who inspect thousands of items each day.
