The summer heat and humidity were relentless at Binney Park during the August 6th finals of the Greenwich Town Tennis Tournament -- but the players persevered, with each and every champion braving the elements and focusing their skills to earn their win.
This year, the Greenwich Town Tennis Tournament took place from July 23 to August 6. The annual competition represents an excellent way for participants to meet new players - and face off against some of their old friends.
The tournament was professionally run by town tennis director Pat Cianciulli, and served as a fun reminder as to the community and quality of players who call Greenwich home.
Avid tennis players of all ages took place in the competition - with divisions for men singles 18 to 34, 35 to 49, and 50 and over, women singles 18 to 34, and 35 and over. There were also men’s and women’s doubles, mixed doubles for 18-44, and 45 and over. The younger players were represented as well with children divisions for boys and girls 17 and under, and 12 and under.
