Chelsea Piers Connecticut Field Hockey Club – Announces Inaugural Season!

Looking to improve your game? Develop the skills of a top flight player? Then this may be the perfect field hockey program for you!

Chelsea Piers Connecticut is pleased to announce the inaugural season of the Chelsea Piers Field Hockey Club program under the leadership of renowned field hockey coaches Mo Minicus and Emily Townsend Prince.

This foundational field hockey program, hosted at Chelsea Piers – CT in Stamford, develops the complete athlete, focusing on athletics, teamwork, character and academics to create the most successful high school and collegiate players.

About The Program



The 2018-19 season launches in September with weekly skill development clinics for girls ages 9-14. The Competitive Club team, for girls age 9-18, will field tryouts in late November and play an indoor winter season, as well as turf and outdoor play in spring and summer.

Field Hockey skill development clinics, and private lessons will be held throughout the year at Chelsea Piers Connecticut.

The Chelsea Piers Field Hockey Club also expects to host the first-ever Fairfield County indoor play college showcase event in early 2019. So stay tuned for more news about this great event!

Co-Head Coaches & Program Coordinators



Coach Minicus, a stand-out varsity athlete and All-American in both Field Hockey and Lacrosse at Williams College, brings over 25 years of coaching experience at both the high school and collegiate level to the new Chelsea Piers program.

For the past 18 years Minicus has been head coach at Darien High School, guiding the girls to multiple FCIAC and Connecticut State championships.

MEET THE COACH: Emily Townsend Prince


Coach Townsend Prince, a three-time NCAA D1 All-American, two-year captain and All Ivy league player at Princeton University, brings 15 years of coaching and mentoring high school student athletes to the new Chelsea Piers program.

Townsend-Price is the current Varsity Field Hockey Coach and Assistant Director of College Counseling at the Kings School in Stamford where she combines her passion for coaching field hockey with a deep interest in mentoring high school age athletes and helping them navigate the often daunting college admissions process.
