For Linda Hoffman, designing a client’s home is not just about making it look picture perfect (though even a quick peek at her portfolio reveals that any of her projects would be at home on the glossy page of a magazine), but rather about tailoring a style unique for each home. To create a one of a kind home for each of her clients, Linda puts into practice her philosophy that “every room should have something unexpected.”

Escapes: Storm King Art Center - Sculpture in the Autumn Air

Escapes: Storm King Art Center - Sculpture in the Autumn Air

This is the time of year we've been waiting for. The sweater weather and fiery colors of autumn foliage make us just want to grab the car keys, hit the road, and take a long scenic ride beneath a psychedelic canopy of rustling and intermittently falling leaves to go see something new! And if it's an outdoor excursion waiting for us on the other end - even better!

One particular destination that feels as if it was absolutely created with fall day-trips in mind is the Storm King Art Center, just over an hour north in New Windsor, New York.

The lower Hudson Valley is stunning this time of year and the Art Center - with it's 500-acre landscape of fields, hills, and woodlands - provides the perfect 'changing-seasons' setting for their collection of more than 100 carefully sited sculptures created by some of the most acclaimed artists of our time.

This summer we are taking our inspiration from traveling and looking at how we can bring some of what makes each destination so special home with us.

Last time we sailed along the French Riviera and were taken with the over the top vacation home of the Baroness Béatrice de Rothchild where gold guilded mirrors, luxe fabrics and ornately carved accent tables and chairs that fill the vast estate. As a palette cleanser, we love the Grand-Hotel du Cap-Ferrat where the look is classic coastal: crisp, clean, and white on white on white.

For the next stop on our travel tour, we head to Morocco.

Greenwich Student Spotlight: Michael Kural and Owen Tedford

This has been a banner year for academic achievement by local-area students - and here at Living Greenwich we love to help spread the word of their accomplishments!

Very early in the year, we were honored to bring you the news of Greenwich High School student, Olivia Hallisey, winning the Google Science Fair Grand Prize (and her celebratory appearance on The Colbert Show).

Recently, there have been two more notable academic attainments by ambitious and talented Greenwich High School students that we think are worthy of mention in this new edition of the Living Greenwich Student Spotlight...

Local Voices: The Natural Beauty of Greenwich is All Around Us

Local Voices: The Natural Beauty of Greenwich is All Around Us

Living Greenwich is proud to bring you another 'Local Voices' feature by Joe 'Boatographer' & Richard DeMarte...

There’s a difference between ‘looking’ and ‘really seeing’. That’s the way I like to describe my approach to enjoying so much of the natural beauty in Greenwich that is around us every day.

One example of this beauty can be seen in all 4 seasons and whether you’re in horse country, along the shoreline or on the waters...

I’m referring to the varied and stunning bird-life around us that can amaze and thrill those who take a bit of time to look for it. Having taken over 90,000 photos over just the past 3 years (mostly of birds), I’ve been fortunate and lucky enough to have captured some of these beautiful birds that call Greenwich their home.
